Trogir is a town with over 2300 years of tradition. Its rich culture was created under the influence of the ancient Greeks, Romans and Venetians. Trogir, with its concentration of palaces, churches, towers, and the fortress on a small island deserves the nickname "the Stone of Beauty".
It is located in Split-Dalmatia County and lies on a small island in the sea-passage between the mainland and the island of Ciovo, with which it is connected by a bridge.
The Adriatic highway connects it with all the settlements in Dalmatia and in close proximity at only 4 kilometres away there is the Split Airport.
Trogir is predominantly a tourist destination with a mild Mediterranean climate. The historical town centre is a unique cultural monument, which in 1997 was listed on the UNESCO list of world heritage. The basic elements of medieval fortified town structure as well as its characteristically placed streets and squares have been kept to date in the urban and architectural core of the old town, thereby making Trogir one of the most important cultural goods on the Croatian territory.

  • Croatia is a wonderful country to visit and ideal for a family vacation. Enjoy Dalmatia planned the most amazing trip for us, with Pat & Lovrenka organizing and arranging everything.

A taxi pick-up at the airport and lovely seafront apartment. We swam every morning in crystal clear water before breakfast enjoying fabulous snorkeling.

The island of Ciovo was just the right combination of nice restaurants and bars and beautiful pebble beaches. It is just a short boat ride from the UNESCO world heritage city of Trogir.

Our holiday was so well planned and organized by the agency so that we had the right balance of relaxation and activities. We had a deep sea dive for the children which was amazing and one of the highlights of the trip. One of the trips completely arranged for us was an adventure day in Omis. First we enjoyed the exhilarating 2100 metres of zip wire flying over the breath-taking mountains and valleys. After lunch at the mill restaurant we went white water rafting on the Cetina river. These two activities are an absolute must. Definitely one of the best days of our lives.

If booking a holiday in Dalmatia I would thoroughly recommend Enjoy Dalmatia for any trip on the Dalmatian coast. Our trip was completely hassle free with high standard sea front accommodation in Croatia.

  • We spent a week staying on Ciovo in a beautiful airy apartment with sea view booked through Enjoy Dalmatia.

The company were extremely helpful when looking for a suitable place to stay with my husband and two teenagers and very quick to respond to my numerous queries. The apartment was only 50m from the sea which was a real bonus.

Enjoy Dalmatia arranged several excursions for us, including rafting on the Cetina river and zip-wiring at Omis which were both amazing experience. They were also able to book a taster scuba diving day which was a highlight.

It is also worth asking the hosts for local restaurant recommendations - we ate out at two particularly good seafood places where we could sit and get a beautiful view of the sun setting over the sea. Transport can be arranged with local drivers - so it is very easy and relaxing.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Enjoy Dalmatia to anyone looking to holiday in this region.

  • Having discovered Croatia and the Dalmatian coast in particular, we find ourselves planning a fourth trip in as many years. There is such a variety of things to do, so much to take in. We have used the island of Ciovo (connected by a bridge to the UNESCO heritage town of Trogir) as our base – situated just 15 minutes from Split airport and between Zadar and Dubrovnik - all with convenient flight options.

The summers in this part of the world are spectacular. The balmy turquoise waters and sunsets that illuminate rugged coastal peaks and flotilla’s of offshore islands are hard to beat. Daytrips to the islands are easily arranged and adventure activities from Omis, especially the rafting and zip lining are also highly recommended.

We have stayed in a variety of smart and excellently located apartments (also arranged by EnjoyDalmatia) – all within meters of the sea, good choice of restaurants and importantly from our daughters perspective, the Dive Centre. And when they walk to dive school, my wife and I just love to explore the island on foot – there are now trails that take you across the island.

On our last trip we walked the northern Ciovo trail beyond Slatine, overlooking fine coves and beaches until arriving at the monastery and eastern most point of the island where we sat on the rocks for hours looking directly across to Split, mesmerised by the hundreds of sailing yachts criss-crossing the sparkling aqua blue waters in front of us.

For an active holiday or to just chill out and enjoy the great seafood and weather, this is the place to go…and definitely through 'Enjoy Dalmatia'!

  • I would give Pat and his team a 5 star rating without hesitation. We travelled to Croatia last summer and had the most fantastic time, enjoying many activities organised through Pat. Our party was very diverse including our 3 teenage boys (16, 15 and 13) along with my husband’s elderly parents.

The villa we stayed in was situated in Okrug Donji It was very spacious, clean and included its own private pool. It was also situated close to both shops and a beautiful quiet beach.

Given that we had teenage boys, there was a need to keep them active. Some of the activities arranged for us included white water rafting, scuba diving, snorkelling and a day’s sailing.

The restaurant recommendations (and bookings) were all superb, beautiful food at a very reasonable price. Thanks to the team at Enjoy Dalmatia, we had a wonderful holiday and will definitely be visiting Croatia again soon.
